Oh Georgia.

We ended our short stay in Santa Fe with a visit to the Georgia O'Keefe museum!! It's on an unassuming street near a residential neighborhood. Parking was difficult but we managed. Since we are students and technically NM residents (wink wink) we were able to get into the museum for $8 and not $20 lol

The GOFK Museum has an app that I downloaded so that I could listen to blurbs about Georgia's paintings!!
It was really cool to learn about her life and her style of painting. There was a story about her response to make critics who felt her paintings were about her femininity/sexuality. She basically felt like her paintings had universal meaning. She felt as if it was unfair for critics to attach their meaning to her work when they didn't know what she was seeing while she painted. As I listened to the voice overs and looked at her paintings (and the portraits), I could tell she was a really feisty lady.
I'm not really sure why I liked this piece. But I really do. I did enjoy basking in all of that creativity.

Leaving Santa Fe...Hello Albuquerque
Once again the views from the high way are just amazing
