My classmate and I went to Santa Fe and Albuquerque this weekend! Santa Fe is about 3 hours away. One thing that I have noticed is that all the buildings are low and the same color (tan). Apparently the buildings can't be built past the second floor. As I drove Kim snapped these....
While we were driving, I noticed a Target near the next exit. I've never been so happy to see a Target in all my days. There is only one grocery store on the reservation and it's called Bashas (I'll talk about Bashas in another post). Anywho....it was exciting to see a shopping complex; a simple pleasure of my previous life on the East coast. It's funny because here when I say I'm Ohio or that I go to school in Philly, people will respond with, "How's life on the East Coast?" As if it's one huge interconnected place. But admittedly, before this rotation, New Mexico was this vague state that I didn't know much about. We really stopped at Target so I could purchase a tote bag which I failed to pack :/
This tote bag has changed my life on the Res. Yes I'm gonna call it "The Res" since I've heard it referred to it that way since I arrived. I'm able to throw everything in it (folders, pens, notes, iPad, and whatever else I can think of) it's great when in travel to the satellite clinics because it has my chargers too haha. After getting my life in Target, we hit the road again to Santa Fe.

Once arriving in Santa Fe, we decided to walk around Canyon Road which is filled with art galleries and speciality shops.
We stopped at one gallery that featured art by DeBusk
